Alright, it’s about time for a truck that will not only meet your expectations, but blow the socks off of your feet! The new 2011 F-150 from your Regina Ford Dealer is quite possibly that most dynamic truck that I have ever seen.

I mean really, there isn’t one or two new engine sizes- there are 4! Whether you’re after a little power or are on the polar end of that scale and want a ton of power, the 2011 F-150 offers it. Speaking of power, think of this for a second… what has 365HP, 420 lb.-ft of torque?

The new 2011, 3.5L 4V DOHC V6 EcoBoost engine does! What other manufacturer would have thought of putting crazy tuned V6 engine into a truck? Ford did, and their engineers went to town on it. They have taken proven diesel technology and applied it to a gas engine, as well as made significant changes to improve the engine.

It is made of lightweight aluminium, rather than steel to keep the truck light on its toes but built to last. On top of having twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) and Dual Overhead Camshaft with 4 valves per cylinder, it has my favourite new Ford truck technology- Twin Turbo Chargers!

Who in their right mind would not want TWIN TURBO CHARGERS in their truck? I would! (And I’d knick name them the Olsens) The twins offer a decrease in road noise (NVH- noise, vibration, and harshness) with its compact and slick design. There is also way less engine compartment heat, so there’s no need to worry about overheating.

As for turbo lag, don’t even think of that term anymore. The turbo’s will spool up quicker than in a single turbo engine, allowing the EcoBoost 3.5L V6 to reach its peak power a lot faster than a standard single turbo. Keeping “turbo lag” in mind just once more- if you are towing a heavy load or just want to beat that little import off of the line at a red light the EcoBoost will give you immediate response to leave him in 2nd gear wondering what happened.

EcoBoost is a relatively new technology, but Ford went ahead and made this one “truck specific”. Features of this particular engine are intake and exhaust camshafts optimized for fuel economy (who doesn’t want that?) as well as better performance. The cast exhaust manifolds make for serious jobs and it is extremely durable.

Capital Ford also improved the cooling system in the EcoBoost to optimize engine coolant flow. So, all in all we are looking at one of the “coolest” advances Ford has made to date for its trucks. Ford has led the way for decades in truck technology, and with the addition of the EcoBoost engine they continue to set the bar for the next guy.

So, in the words of the famous dog whisperer, Cesar Milan… Ford continues to be “The Leader of the Pack” and will likely be there for many years to come!

Are you a truck guy or gal?? If you are, prepare to be mesmerized!! If not, like myself, you may actually appreciate this anyway.

Ford launched its new 2011 Super Duty this spring, and if you are not impressed by this redesign of diesel as well as gas engine please step away from this post, if you’re in…. read on!For the first time Ford designed an engine from an in house perspective, and didn’t rely on the other guy to make an engine that would last until the end of time! This engine was stripped from top to bottom, and made to go through some serious conditions that only some of us (Canadians) can appreciate.

We’re talking about tests that truly test the metal that this engine will go through from a consumer’s perspective. It wasn’t tested in the California desert in ideal conditions, it was tested in conditions that we really go through day to day.

If you were to try to start your car or truck in -40 degree weather without having plugged it in over night, you may be in trouble. Consider this… the new 2011 Super Duty engine was run through real life simulation, and has passed with flying colors.

First of all, it was run through 1200 hours of FULL THRODEL testing to see if it could handle the stress- “Bring it on” it said!

Secondly, the new turbo chargers were shocked by ice cold water over and over to see if the engine would seize- Again, it said “yaawwnn”.

It was also run for 250,000 MILES of simulation in a temperature difference ranging from 130 degrees Fahrenheit to -40 degrees Fahrenheit without hesitation.

Granted, our weather conditions will never get that extreme but it has shown that it will stand the test. If you consider that a truck will run for well over 500,000KM in its lifetime, why wouldn’t you want this in your arsenal of weapons as a Crew Chief? Or for that matter, in your driveway to tow that camper you have to Jasper and back on your summer vacation?

The new 2011 Super Duty has passed some of the most gruelling tests ever run on an engine. And if for whatever reason you haven’t seen this truck yet, it has seriously brought sexy back into the truck world!

Come on own to Capital Ford Lincoln, and we would be happy to show you why Ford has led the truck industry for over 30 years!

I mean, how far would you go to buy something? Take a minute and just think of what may have been your furthest purchase that you have ever made. I am pretty sure for me, it was a belt buckle I bought off of Ebay… bought online from Los Angeles, California.

To some, that’s not terribly far. For others, it is a lifetime away. Now consider this, what has been your furthest online purchase for more than $5000? I don’t think many of us have done that in our lives if I were to guess.

Read on to find out more!

I mention this fun fact because I would like you to say hello to Julie & Everett. Julie and her husband, Everett are from Vernon, British Columbia. They now have a story to tell all of their friends and family that should be considered impressive.

Recently at Capital Ford Lincoln, Julie inquired online about a 2004 F350 Lariat to haul her horse trailer and fun summer equipment around in. She spoke to me on the phone for the first time on a Thursday, April 15th… we negotiated on that Friday, and she and Everett flew to Regina on Saturday morning.

I picked them up at the Regina airport in the early afternoon, brought them back to the dealership and by 4PM they had purchased an F350. My position as Internet Specialist at Capital Ford Lincoln allows me to interact with a lot of people, from a lot of places. But, I have never sold anything to a client that lives 2 provinces and 1320 kilometres away!

I appreciate the distance required to travel as far as they did, and I hope that the service they received was better than expected. We pride ourselves at Capital Ford Lincoln in “Shining Brighter”. The fact they travelled that far hopefully indicates we did.

We certainly appreciate the business from as far away as BC, and it just goes to show that no matter how far away we may be… this story shows we’re never too far!!

The new Ford Fiesta is next in line to be crowned King of the Road in the small car class. The Fiesta set to be released by summer of 2010 and will set the standard in economy, safety, and new power train technology. Its sleek design will attract a crowd of both young and old looking for both fun and practicality. Its technology however, will attract everyone else!

The Fiesta is set to be a leader in fuel economy with a best-in-class 50 (canadian) MPG with a quick response 1.6L engine. It will also be equipped with a DOHC I-4, 6 speed transmission with electric power assist.

Fiesta will also be available in 4 & 5 door body styles. This little car is set to be a game changer for Ford. Its impact has already been felt around the world with the release and sale of 500,000 units in Europe & Asia. The idea behind the Fiesta was to put into play a car that was compact, but that offered world class quality.

“Fuel economy leaders have traditionally been manual shift models,” said Pierro Aversa, team leader for transmissions. “Fiesta changes the game by offering an advanced PowerShift six-speed automatic that delivers maximum fuel economy”

With dual clutches, the engine will always maximize its responsiveness and fuel efficiency. This responsiveness will be determined by the input received by the accelerator pedal. As well, a nice new twist given to the Fiesta is technology taken from its cousin, the Escape. Equipped with EPAS (Electronic Power Assist Steering), this will allow for easier turning and parallel parking manoeuvres. This technology will be equipped in 90% of Ford’s line up by 2013.

With safety being on most people’s mind when buying a car, it is especially important in a compact. The Fiesta will be equipped with dual stage first row airbags, and class exclusive driver’s knee airbag. It will also be equipped with side air bags and side curtain air bags.

The frame of the Fiesta has been build with approximately 50% boron steel in all critical areas, making it best-in-class for occupant safety. This “little “car has been tested and retested for the pounding it will take on our North American roads, and by all accounts is more than ready.

The new Ford Fiesta is coming to Capital Ford soon… in fact ordering just opened for our stock today!
