2 Great Men. 2 Outstanding Awards.

Well, well, well, would you look at these two peas in a pod!

Bruce Axelson, president of the Capital Auto Group and Irv Lazorko, product specialist at Capital Ford Lincoln posed for a few photos together in celebration of their third year in a row to receive an award! Bruce received his third Retailer of the Year award, while Irv received his third Product Specialist of the Year award for 2011!

Bruce Axelson received an award for Capital GMC Buick Cadillac with two components, one for sales of Optimum used cars and another for combined sales of new and used vehicles – from Glenn Lemmerick, GM Canada’s western regional manager. Irvin Lazorko received the award for Capital Ford’s Product Specialist of the Year 2011. This is also his third award in a row! This award is given to the product specialist with the top total new and used vehicle sales combined.

These two gentlemen have been in the car business for a combined total of 80 years. They are both extremely outstanding individuals that are dedicated and passionate towards the automotive industry and are always willing to lend a hand. On behalf of Bruce and Irv I would like to thank all of our customers for your loyalty and ongoing support. We look forward to welcoming any new customers and seeing previous customers in the future!

Family Day Holiday

What are you going to do this Family Day?!

Family Day is a observed as a statutory holiday in only three Canadian provinces-Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Ontario (yay!) This year, family day is this Monday, February 20, 2011.

In October 2006, Saskatchewan’s Premier Lorne Calvert proposed the holiday for the province, beginning in 2007. The bill for the Labour Standards Amendment Act, 2006, was introduced in the legislature on November 1, 2006, and received Royal Assent on December 6. The act officially declares the third Monday of each February Family Day and came into effect immediately; the first Family Day in Saskatchewan was February 19, 2007.

Family Day is meant to spend time with family and friends. Here are a few ideas we came up with that you and your families could do:

Ice skating or tobogganing
Indoor swimming
Movie/ popcorn/ board game night
Bowling or mini golf
Take a vacation to the mountains to ski or snowboard
Baking

Irv Lazorko is Capital Ford’s January Super Salesman of the Month!

Irvin Lazorko has been rewarded salesman of the month in January! Irv sold a grand total of 16 vehicles! He once sold a whopping 56 vehicles in one month! He attributes this to his 38 years at Ford and Lincoln and wouldn’t have it any other way. Irv is passionate about his career and treats it as a hobby. Irv excels at his position because he is considerate, sincere, and dedicated. Irv is at the dealership 6 days a week and has developed an impressive clientele base. Irv’s favorite vehicles are the Lincolns because of their luxury and high build quality.

Irv Lazorko was born in Wishart, Saskatchewan and was raised in Bankend, Saskatchewan. He enjoys spending his free time gardening, doing yard work and spending time with his two grandsons. His favorite foods are pasta and fish. He has previously worked for SaskPower for 15 years both in construction and the head office. If he could have any super power he would be invisible because he could do anything he wanted. If Irv could be any animal in the world he would choose to be a horse because horses work very hard!

Sask Minor Hockey Rocks!

I was fortunate to attend the Regina Pat Canadians year end wind up banquet this year representing Capital Ford and the Capital Auto Mall. The Pat Canadians had a successful year and there was tons to celebrate. Even though the year didn’t wind up with a championship, or a trip to the playoffs, the Pat Canadians landed 5th in the standings and narrowly missed out on the playoffs after a tie breaker with Notre Dame to end the season.

Graham Black - Regina Pat Canadians

Graham Black in particular cleaned up the league awards with 3 league awards including MVP! He’s hoping to join the Swift Current Broncos after playing a few games up at the major junior league with them already this year. Selfishly I’m a huge Broncos fan so I hope he kills it!

The program was fun. It started out with an inspirational address from the WHL Regina Pats head coach Curtis Hunt who spoke about attitude and hard work being the cornerstone for all success in life, not just in hockey. As it was winding down the teams trainer, Doug McKell went through the classic gag gifts. Handing out an alarm clock for those who can’t keep time, dog treats for those in always in the coaches dog house, crazy glue for a player who leaks the most blood and a bunch of well intended, funny but heart felt gifts. You could really tell the connection between the players and their trainer was tight and had everyone in stitches.

You can really tell that this team, from the players, coaches and parents, are all in it for the right reasons. it was easy to feel the passion for the game and for the young men to be the best, not only in hockey but in everything they do. As a Regina Ford dealership it’s easy to be a proud sponsor of such a great organization and I’m sincerely looking forward to being at next years banquet as well!

The all new interactive MyFord Touch technology system is now included in all new 2011 Ford vehicles from Capital Ford, your Regina Ford Dealer. This exciting new system helps you manage your phone, entertainment, climate and navigation while keeping your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Not to mention, you can personalize your settings and access vehicle information all with the touch of a button or a simple voice command. It’s that easy!

Entertainment - play music, view your photos, or even watch a movie!

DEVICES:
Bluetooth Audio- Pair your Bluetooth enabled phone with the SYNC system and MyFord Touch will recognize it everytime you start the car. MP3′s that you have stored on your phone will be streamed through the MyFord touch system and you can access them through the touch of a button or simple voice commands.

Connectivity Hub- While your vehicle is parked (of course) plug your USB device or SD Card to access your photos, music or videos. There are 2 avilable USB ports so you can stream music from one and charge your phone from the other.

Internet Connectivity- Turn your portable device or smart phone into a wireless router. Plug it intothe USB port and your passengers can breose the internet and update their facebook.

MUSIC:
Music Search and song tagging- Search for music from any of your devices or Sirius Satellite Radio using voice commands or the steering wheel enabled controls. Find a song you love? Press the alert button the the 8-inch touch screen and MyFord Touch will let you know whenever that particualr band or song is playing on any Sirius radio channel. You can also press the tag button so you can transfer information to your iPod to purchase the song at a later time from the iTunes store.

Music Library- Drivers are able to import all songs from iPods and MP3 players that display the title, artist, and album names.

Phone- call and text your friends and family while your hands remain on the wheel and eyes on the road!

PAIRING:
Connect your phone and other phones- pair your phone to Microsoft’s SYNC system and every time you enter the vehicle, it will recognize your phone so you don’t have to go digging through your pockets or bag to find it. MyFord Touch system has the ability to pair up to 12 different phones. Just choose the phone you want from the list that appears on the touch screen to access your phone and music.

CALLING:
Never miss a call- The music volume will automatically turn down when a call comes in. To easily identify who is trying to get a hold of you, the contact’s display picture will appear on your touch screen. You have the option of whether you want to accept or reject the call. Once you have answered you can choose to put the call on hold, mute it or when you are done, hang up without ever having to take your hands off the wheel!

Call options- You can view call history including missed calls and return a call using steering wheel controls or simple voice commands. Once you are finished you call, your music will start right back up so you can get back to dancing while sitting at a red light while other drivers stare awkwardly at you!

TEXTING:
Listen to a text- When you receive a text you can have the system read it to you over the system’s car speakers.

Reply to a text- You can text a friend back without taking your phone out of your pocket or bag. Select from 15 preset messages from the touch screen or reply using voice commands. When parked, a full keyboard appears on the touch screen and you can type whatever response you like.

Navigation- you will never get lost with this baby!

3-D NAVIGATION:
SD-Card Navigation- Plug in your SD-Card navigation into your media hub to get directions to your destination. Access spots you frequent the most (like Capital Ford in Regina, SK) and points of interest or insert an address on your touch screen.

Maps- Search for destinations through voice commands and a 3D map will appear will buildings and street names on the touch screen to help guide you there.

Route Choice- You can choose from three different routes:
1. Fastest Route- will get you there in the least amount of time
2. Shortest Route- to travel the shortest distance possible
3. Eco Route- most fuel efficient path to your destination
You can also check to see if there is any construction or accidents that may get in the way of your destination.

SYNC SERVICES:
Turn-by-turn-guide- displays arrows in the instrument cluster and on the 8-inch screen to help guide you with every turn or just follow the voice commands to get to your destination. You can also access weather reports for your area, news updates, stocks, horoscopes and even your favourite sports teams. (GO RIDERS!)

911 Assist- When airbags deploy in the event of an accident, 911 with GPS makes a direct call to a 911 operator and gives emergency responders your exact location.

Climate- YOU are in control of the climate!

YOUR COMFORT ZONE:
Voice control- set the temperature using your steering wheel buttons or with a voice command. You can set it as high or as low as you want. You an also tell the system which fan you want turned on or off. To activate your heated front seats, simple touch the option on the 8-inch touch screen. You’re gonna need this option, especially on your way to Capital Ford, your Regina Ford Dealer to keep your buns and back warm in the winter!

Perfect temperature- You can save your favourite temperature and can access it at a later time with the simple touch of a button.

Personalize your vehicle!

LEFT CLUSTER SCREEN:
Driving efficiency- The MyFord Touch system allows you to monitor driving efficiency. Use left instrument cluster to select “instant mpg” setting to check how efficiently you’re driving and compare it to your average mpg to see if you’re improving. Use the fuel history graph to coach you into being a more fuel efficient driver.

Fuel guage- The fuel guage allows you to see how much gas you have left in the tank. It changes color depending on the level of fuel you have left; blue- good to go, yellow- think about filling up, red- you’re out of gas! You can set your steering wheel to only show fuel economy if you like or configure it to show fuel guage in tachometer or temperature.

System Check- The system check will do a routine evaluation of oil life, washer fluid, level, brakes, blind spot and cross traffic alert systems. If any of these need attention, a warning is displayed in the left cluster screen indicating that you need to take your vehicle into the shop.

Ambient Lighting- the 8-inch screen available on MyFord Touch holds the option of choosing your interior ambient lighting. The touch screen has the colour carousel displayed on it, allowing drivers to choose the colour that best matches your mood. Select from ice blue, orange, soft blue, red, green and purple.
