Graham Black - Regina Pat Canadians

Graham Black in particular cleaned up the league awards with 3 league awards including MVP! He’s hoping to join the Swift Current Broncos after playing a few games up at the major junior league with them already this year. Selfishly I’m a huge Broncos fan so I hope he kills it!

The program was fun. It started out with an inspirational address from the WHL Regina Pats head coach Curtis Hunt who spoke about attitude and hard work being the cornerstone for all success in life, not just in hockey. As it was winding down the teams trainer, Doug McKell went through the classic gag gifts. Handing out an alarm clock for those who can’t keep time, dog treats for those in always in the coaches dog house, crazy glue for a player who leaks the most blood and a bunch of well intended, funny but heart felt gifts. You could really tell the connection between the players and their trainer was tight and had everyone in stitches.

You can really tell that this team, from the players, coaches and parents, are all in it for the right reasons. it was easy to feel the passion for the game and for the young men to be the best, not only in hockey but in everything they do. As a Regina Ford dealership it’s easy to be a proud sponsor of such a great organization and I’m sincerely looking forward to being at next years banquet as well!

The new MyFord Mobile app is compatible with smartphones such as BlackBerry, Android and iPhones allowing drivers to monitor their vehicle at all times. This remote control access gives drivers the opportunity to do various things like check the car’s charge status, locate charging stations, remotely pre-heat or cool the car and perform other convenient electric vehicle-specific tasks while still connected to the charging source to preserve battery.

The new app dedicated to Ford electric vehicle owners also has a value charging feature, powered by Microsoft that allows Ford customers to take advantage of off-peak or reduced rates from their utility without a complicated set-up process.  MyFord Mobile also assists drivers with directions through the use of MapQuest which is comprised of the largest database of charging stations and users can save their favourite charging stations for later use. On-screen maps show rings that depict the vehicle’s approximate range, with charge points indicated in either green or yellow depending on the calculated likelihood of your reaching them.

In addition, the car learns your driving style as it is able to adjust range projections accordingly and can decipher between two different drivers using two different sets of keys. The MyFord app also allows vehicle owners to check the gallons of gas and pounds of CO2 saved as a result of going electric. Alan Mullaly also showcased the ever so popular SYNC system that is integrated into more than 3 million Ford vehicles to date. Sync destinations are now free for iPhone and Android cellular devices. 

The eco-friendly vehicles offer consumers more performance, but with 30% savings in fuel. By 2020 it is expected that hybrid electric cars will hold up to 10-20% of the automotive market.
