As I got to work this morning I was approached by Mitch and asked to take the 2011 Ford Taurus around Regina and take some pictures with it in front of some local businesses. I instantly laughed in his face thinking, really.. the Ford Taurus? Isn’t there a better car I could take out? Trusting Mitch, I accepted the task, got in the driver’s seat and drove away.

The first thing I noticed about the Taurus was how ballin the inside was! Sync technology, ambient lighting (loved the purple!), heated and air conditioned seats, massage seats.. this is definitely not a car a grandpa would drive! It was a beautiful day to have the sunroof open and the rearview camera with backup sensors helped me get in and out of tight parking spots. Not gonna lie, I had the windows down, sunroof open jammin’ to some of the best hip-hop stations on SIRIUS satellite radio.

The 2011 Ford Taurus includes all the top of the line safety features and sleek all leather interior. The fuel efficiency of this car is hard to beat with 18mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. As one of Canada’s best selling Sedan’s this car is great for every type of driver!

I was able to cruise around in the 2011 Ford Taurus quite easily and was even able to answer phone calls hands free with the SYNC system. This system gives drivers the ability to manage your phone and music all with a simple voice command or touch of a button. The steering wheel mounted controls allowed me to change radio stations while keeping my hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

The athletic stance and unique tri-bar grille no longer makes the Ford Taurus an old school car. With a 3.5L Ecoboost engine and twin-turbocharge the Taurus delivers extreme power.

After this experience I have learned to never judge a book by its cover.. or in this case a car by its hood?! All in all this car ended up being a pretty sick whip! Come on down to Capital Ford, your Regina Ford Dealer and test drive a 2011 Ford Taurus today!

The all new 2011 Ford Explorer from Capital Ford, your Regina Ford Dealer was named North American truck of the year! By reinventing the all new 2011 Ford Explorer, it now offers class leading fuel economy, available second row inflatable seat belts and intelligent 4WD with the advanced Terrain Management System which makes this truck deserving of its title.

“It’s a proud moment for Ford, our employees and our customers to have Explorer named North American Truck of the Year,” said Mark Fields, Ford president of The Americas. “Winning this honor for the third consecutive year confirms our One Ford plan is working to deliver vehicles people truly want and value, with industry-leading quality, fuel efficiency, safety and smart technology.”

To be eligable for such a prestegious award, an auto maker must produce a vehicle that is “all new” or “substantially changed” from the previous model, which is what Ford did with the 2011 Explorer. The truck of the year award recognizes innovation, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value at a reasonable price for consumers.

Ford’s Succcesses

The win of the 2011 Ford Explorer from Capital Ford, your Regina Ford Dealer, makes Ford the dominating truck company in the auto industry. Ford has won 7 different top awards out of the 18 years that the North American Internation Auto Show has been around..now that’s what I call impressive! Last year Ford Transit Connect was the winner and in previous years winning vehicles include the F-150 and the fuel efficient Escape Hybrid. Ford has surpassed their toughest truck competitors such as the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cheeroke and left them in the dust!

Ford Explorer Completely Reinvented

The all new 2011 Ford Explorer was revealed in July, 2011, showcasing its amazing improved features. The extreme towing capabilities, innovative technology features, dynamic performance and intelligent Terrain Management System that allows you to choose from four different surface conditions, controlling and adpating the engine, transmission and brake system to match the conditions of the surface.

The standard 3.5L V6 engine makes the 2011 Explorer the leading fuel efficient vehicle in its class offering a whopping 17mpg in the city and 25mpg on the highway! Not to mention, the interior is full of comfort and front heated seats are essential for those cold winter days. The innovative technology of the sleek MyFord Touch is enough to knock your socks off! This easy to use technology interface enables you to manage your phone, music, climate and navigation with the integrated 8 inch touch screen or wheel mounted controls so that you can keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

This all new 2011 Ford Explorer from Capital Ford was created for the 21st century drivers. Its reliability, supreme safety and innovative technology is what makes the 2011 Ford Explorer deserving of its title of North American Truck of the Year. It’s practically a vehicle you could live in! Come in to Capital Ford, your Regina Ford Dealer to meet our friendly and experienced staff to test drive your future 2011 Ford Explorer today!

Alright, it’s about time for a truck that will not only meet your expectations, but blow the socks off of your feet! The new 2011 F-150 from your Regina Ford Dealer is quite possibly that most dynamic truck that I have ever seen.

I mean really, there isn’t one or two new engine sizes- there are 4! Whether you’re after a little power or are on the polar end of that scale and want a ton of power, the 2011 F-150 offers it. Speaking of power, think of this for a second… what has 365HP, 420 lb.-ft of torque?

The new 2011, 3.5L 4V DOHC V6 EcoBoost engine does! What other manufacturer would have thought of putting crazy tuned V6 engine into a truck? Ford did, and their engineers went to town on it. They have taken proven diesel technology and applied it to a gas engine, as well as made significant changes to improve the engine.

It is made of lightweight aluminium, rather than steel to keep the truck light on its toes but built to last. On top of having twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) and Dual Overhead Camshaft with 4 valves per cylinder, it has my favourite new Ford truck technology- Twin Turbo Chargers!

Who in their right mind would not want TWIN TURBO CHARGERS in their truck? I would! (And I’d knick name them the Olsens) The twins offer a decrease in road noise (NVH- noise, vibration, and harshness) with its compact and slick design. There is also way less engine compartment heat, so there’s no need to worry about overheating.

As for turbo lag, don’t even think of that term anymore. The turbo’s will spool up quicker than in a single turbo engine, allowing the EcoBoost 3.5L V6 to reach its peak power a lot faster than a standard single turbo. Keeping “turbo lag” in mind just once more- if you are towing a heavy load or just want to beat that little import off of the line at a red light the EcoBoost will give you immediate response to leave him in 2nd gear wondering what happened.

EcoBoost is a relatively new technology, but Ford went ahead and made this one “truck specific”. Features of this particular engine are intake and exhaust camshafts optimized for fuel economy (who doesn’t want that?) as well as better performance. The cast exhaust manifolds make for serious jobs and it is extremely durable.

Capital Ford also improved the cooling system in the EcoBoost to optimize engine coolant flow. So, all in all we are looking at one of the “coolest” advances Ford has made to date for its trucks. Ford has led the way for decades in truck technology, and with the addition of the EcoBoost engine they continue to set the bar for the next guy.

So, in the words of the famous dog whisperer, Cesar Milan… Ford continues to be “The Leader of the Pack” and will likely be there for many years to come!

The new 2011 Ford F-150 is brought to you by Capital Ford, your Regina Ford Dealer. Not only with four new engines but also the F-150 rules the class in power and fuel economy. Now, the F-150 has an engine for everybody.

Built for your tough jobs our new 5.0L V8 is big on performance and fuel economy. You must be wondering like many others, “How did Ford do that?” and “What makes Ford so different?”

It all started with Ford engineering and proven technologies. Then, these engines saw thousands of hours of harsh real-world and laboratory testing. Ford engineers worked harder and longer to deliver the best line up of F-150 engines-period. This is the new F-150, the future of all trucks!

The 5.0L V8 engine is not only Flex Fuel capable but also has an estimated EPA Rating of 15.0 city and 10.5 highway L/100 KM is more fuel efficient. Helping with the improvement in fuel efficiency Ford as added an aggressive deceleration fuel shut off (ADFSO). Which will temporarily interrupts fuel delivery and consumption when the vehicle normally slows down while maintaining normal engine operation.

Not to forget the other new technology, twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT). This allows the camshafts to operate both the intake and exhaust valves at different times in the combustion cycle, based on speed and load to provide optimum performance and fuel economy. With outstanding efficiency under low load conditions such as idling or highway cruising also has remarkable power when accelerating.

With an increase of 50 more horsepower compared over the 5.4L V8 in the previous years F-150. Not only the 360 horsepower under the hood will turn heads but the 380 lb-ft of torque also. For when you’ve got 10,000 lbs in the back and the light turns green, simply hit the gas. This engine will do everything and more.

This call comes from the dual overhead camshaft (DOHC), lightweight aluminum cylinder heads, 4 valves per cylinder and direct acting mechanical valvetrain. The camshaft was designed for improved low speed torque and cast iron exhaust manifolds for heavy duty durability. With the fail safe cooling system no need to worry about this guy overheating, even under the toughest conditions.

As I wrote about the new ecoboost V6 for the 2011 Ford F-150 I couldn’t help but be blown away as I dug into some Ford resources. The power and torque numbers out of a V6 (at least I thought) are almost unbelievable. It’s that impressive. The more I thought about it, the same questions begged to be asked. How is a V6 supposed to produce this much power and torque without blowing itself up. So I dug in a little deeper to answer, is this new engine going to be reliable? Want to know what I found? Keep on reading baby!

An all-new engine

Every Ford truck engine undergoes a tortuous testing program, and the EcoBoost truck engine was no exception.

“We’re testing this EcoBoost truck engine just as we would all of our other F-150 truck engines – we have exactly the same expectations and it has to pass all our truck durability and reliability tests,” said Kris Norman, powertrain operations manager. “From our standpoint, this is an all-new engine specifically designed and engineered for the F-150. Everything is validated to the higher stress levels and higher customer usage levels found in any F-150 engine.”

Three avenues that test and validate engines are computer analysis, laboratory testing and in-vehicle validation. For the 3.5-liter EcoBoost application in the 2011 F-150, that includes:

More than 1.5 million hours of analytical time

More than 13,000 hours of dynamometer testing, including more than 5,000 hours at full boost and more than 2,500 hours at or above 5,000 rpm; the dyno testing helps ensure durability in excess of 150,000 miles

More than 100,000 hours of vehicle test time encompassing the full range of potential customer operating conditions

All the tests together replicate more than 1.6 million miles of customer usage – the harshest-use customer. A customer profile reflecting extreme-use driving style, road types and vehicle usage, including maximum towing and payload situations, was developed to underpin the testing program.

The computer modeling and system analysis especially have been key.

“Instead of constantly building and testing parts, we want to be smarter and use our computer skills and our ability to model things to do the upfront work,” Norman said. “We want to get everything right at the start, then validate with extensive testing.”

Turning up the heat

Engineers put the 3.5-liter EcoBoost truck engine on an extreme, accelerated pace. The thermal cycling test, for example, replicated conditions from the Arctic Circle to Death Valley to simulate 10 years of use in the harshest environments.

“On a thermal cycling test, for example, we want the engine to get hot as fast as possible, so the best way to do that is to go full boost at high speed,” Norman said. “To test the structure of the engine, we run it at full boost with maximum load. We run thousands of hours at full boost – conditions not attainable in a real-drive situation but important for proving this F-150 is ready to go the distance.”

The 2011 F-150 with EcoBoost will be available in early 2011.

I don’t know about you but when I heard of a V6 in the F-150 and how many they wanted to get into our Regina Ford dealership I was, well pretty much a Debby Downer. That is, UNTIL, I did a little research in the new engine and what it has to offer. My ignorance took a hay-maker to the chops. Keep on reading to learn all about it.

Cutting right to the chase, with the new 3.5-litre EcoBoost engine, the 2011 Ford F-150 will deliver best-in-class towing capability and torque with outstanding fuel economy. That make sense right, that’s likely why a person would consider a V6, for outstanding fuel economy but as truck buyers in Saskatchewan tell us every day, they need a truck that can work. The torque and tow capacity of the new V6, compared to any other V6 available is off the charts. So to our customers looking for a work truck, yeah you may be used to needing a big engine and go with a V8 but V6 is ridiculous. (You’ll crap when you get down to the numbers… I don’t know how to put it anyway else.) Give it some serious consideration when you call, send in an online request or come in and ask about our trucks. If you need a truck that will work, Capital Ford answers the call!

“Customers have embraced the EcoBoost solution of delivering the power they desire with the fuel economy they demand in a no-compromise package . . . From the start, we have pledged that this solution applies to any engine and any customer. The EcoBoost truck engine for the 2011 F-150 will deliver those attributes and has been specially tuned and tested to deliver the best-in-class towing and capability our truck customers demand.”
Derrick Kuzak, group vice president, Global Product Development.

The key technology built into every EcoBoost engine, including turbocharging and direct fuel injection, is particularly relevant to customers of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost truck engine.

This combination of turbocharging and direct fuel injection delivers a wealth of low-end torque and maintains it across a broad rpm range, which is key in towing applications. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost truck engine delivers 420 lb.-ft. of torque and 365 horsepower to enable best-in-class towing of 11,300 pounds – more than enough to tow a fully loaded three-horse trailer or 30-foot boat, for example. Plus the EcoBoost truck engine does it all on regular fuel and with outstanding fuel economy. I have to stop and give a

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

“Truck customers should think of the EcoBoost truck engine as a gas-powered engine with diesel-type capability and characteristics,” said Jim Mazuchowski, V6 engines program manager. “The twin turbochargers and direct injection give it the broad, flat torque curve that makes towing with a diesel so effortless – and hard acceleration so much fun.”

Up to 90 percent of the EcoBoost truck engine’s peak torque is available from 1,700 rpm to 5,000 rpm. A typical comparable V8 competitor reaches peak torque at higher engine speeds – around 4,000 rpm – and holds it for a much smaller range.

“This is good news for customers because the combination of reaching peak torque at a lower engine speed, and maintaining that torque for a longer period, brings new levels of fuel efficiency with maximum towing capability other competitors can’t match,” said Mazuchowski.

This EcoBoost truck engine also features twin independent variable camshaft timing, or Ti-VCT, to help save fuel. Ti-VCT provides extremely precise variable – yet independent – control of timing for intake and exhaust valves. Ti-VCT also reduces emissions, especially in situations when the throttle is partially open.

Independent adjustment of intake and exhaust valve timing allows maximum fuel economy at part-throttle, while delivering optimized power in full-throttle situations. An added benefit is improved driveability and responsiveness across the torque curve.

So V6 Fuel economy and big daddy diesel characteristics, it sounds awfully good. I can’t wait until we have the opportunity to test it’s mettle!

Nelly has collaborated with Ford’s design team and DUB’s customization team to make his very own tricked-out Mustang GT which will appear on the front cover of his album’s artwork; it is set to be released in March 30, 2010.

“Nelly is a true car guy, there’s no denying that. When Nelly expressed interest in wanting to partner with Ford on the all-new 2011 Ford Mustang GT, we knew it was a perfect fit. The Mustang has such appeal within the urban market. Since it was launched, the vehicle has made appearances in several of the most popular urban films. This was just a great opportunity for Ford, and we’re excited that the Mustang GT is going to be a part of one of the most anticipated albums of 2010.” – Crystal Worthem, Ford’s Multicultural Marketing Communications Manager.

Learn more about this awesome partnership between Nelly and Ford by reading on!

Nelly’s Mustang GT came to life after the artist caught a glimpse of the vehicle while inside the walls of Ford’s design studio a little more than a year ago as part of a partnership tied to the launch of the 2009 Ford Flex.

Nelly has since then collaborated with Ford’s design team and DUB’s customization team to make the Mustang his own while still keeping the vehicle true to its muscle car roots.

“I’m itching to get behind the wheel of my Mustang and really take it out on the streets. This vehicle being a part of my album artwork is just a reflection of the direction and feel that the album has. To be able to partner with Ford again on another vehicle that is going to change the automotive game is exciting.”

The 35-year-old rapper, actor and mogul, who was most recently ranked third on Billboard Magazine’s “Artist of the Decade List,” says the Mustang is one of the hottest muscle cars ever to hit the streets.

Nelly said he got his love of cars from his family, including his grandfather and his father. “I probably shouldn’t say this but my father used to street race with me in the back seat. And at the time it sounded beautiful,” he said. “It’s probably a little dangerous now. But at the time I loved it.”

The exterior of the vehicle features a custom gloss black paint job with flat black racing stripes and a Street Scenes body kit complete with custom 22- and 24-inch wheels and Pirelli tires. The vehicle also includes a billet grille, hood scoop, tinted taillights, angel eyes headlights and a Borla exhaust. In addition, the interior is a complete suede and leather design with a custom JL Audio system that includes two 12-inch subwoofers, amps and speakers. The question should be “Why wouldn’t I want to buy a Ford Fusion?”, and if you want to go a little further, you might to ask “Why wouldn’t I want to buy a Ford Fusion from Capital Ford Lincoln?”

Read on to find out all the reasons why you should buy Ford Fusion and more!

The car was named the 2010 car of the year by “Motor Trend” magazine. It cited the fact the Fusion is an economical, midsize sedan that won’t put a major dent in your pocketbook and that its one of the safest vehicles to be in. Besides standard four-wheel disc brakes, ABS, dual-stage airbags, and a variety of other active and passive safety measures, you can order a rearview camera system, as well as a Blind Spot Information System that warns you when another vehicle is hiding in your blind spot.

The original Ford Fusion came to market for the 2006 model year. The basics were there, but the car wasn’t fully baked. For 2010, Ford’s product teams gave the lineup a complete redevelopment so thorough, you would think the first-generation car never existed. Only the passenger-shell sheet metal and other basic architectural elements escaped being redesigned, upgraded, or replaced. Although a four-door sedan is the only body style offered, power-train choices expand from two to four, and each is new or substantially revised. There are several trim levels offered as well: base S, upmarket SE, luxurious SEL, a separate Sport model, and a Hybrid.

Everyone knows value is high on the list of potential buyers. Perhaps then, it’s here that the Fusion delivers its greatest pop. Starting at $19,695, the 2010 Fusion comes with a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. EPA estimates for fuel economy with that engine mated to the six-speed automatic lead the family sedan class with 22 city/34 highway.

That $19,695 price will get you a Fusion S model with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder, power windows, locks and mirrors, air conditioning, 60/40 split rear seats, stylish 16-inch aluminum wheels. Moving up to a preferable $21,225 SE trim will allow you tons more options (including Sync) along with standard Sirius satellite radio, nicer trim and awesome looking snowflake-style 17-inch alloys.

The $24,655 SEL four-cylinder Fusion makes the optional and preferable six-speed automatic standard all the while giving you dual-zone automatic climate control, steering wheel mounted audio controls, auto headlamps, an auto-dim rear view mirror, standard Sync connectivity, eight-way power front seats and leather upholstery. That’s a great deal for a stylish, reliable and fully loaded family sedan.

What’s not to like. Passenger room is ample with plenty of room for legs in the back seat even with a six-footer sitting behind another six-footer. The trunk is another strong point with the Fusion as 16.5 cubic feet ranks it as one of the largest in its class and the drive is as quiet as can be.

In closing, if you are looking for the practicality of a well-appointed, well-engineered and crisp-handling family-sized four-door that also offers a choice of fuel-efficient four-or six-cylinder engines and available all-wheel drive, the 2010 Ford Fusion merits serious consideration for a spot in your garage.
