Okay. Now that I got that out I can now explain how much I personally want a 2011 Ford Fiesta! I want a purple one especially, I mean Bright Magenta Metallic. The colors are so great, and so different from typical vehicle colors. They’re fun, hip and exciting, literally. It’s had to explain how a color is exciting, but these are.

I’ve never seen a Fiesta up close and personal yet, (keyword being ‘yet’), but I’m really liking what I’m seeing in pictures and what I’m reading online and hearing from others. I so badly want to test drive one!

The design of the Fiesta is so sleek, sporty and fun and it comes with lots of great features! Small cars are the best, and I love them for just that reason – they’re small! However, the interior of the Fiesta is supposed to be quite roomy and I can’t wait to find out how roomy it is!

Some of the features that I found the most intriguing to me out of the many that the Fiesta has are:

The dual clutch technology in the Fiesta isn’t new to the car world, but it is the first time the technology has ever been available in a car this size. Now, I’ve never personally driven a standard, but this dual clutch is supposed to be better. It combines two clutches that do the work for you to make the vehicle an automatic, but it is also better for the efficiency of the car and uses less fuel!

Another thing I can’t wiat to see is the key sensing system that is totally hands-free! The way it works is that by touching the door handle, the car senses the keys in your pocket, purse, or wherever and unlocks the doors for you! Is that sweet or what?

Now, I have to say that the dashboard in the Fiesta looks pretty darn awesome. It’s supposed to be cell-phone inspired and I totally see it. I really like the Sync technology that is available, especially with the cell-phone ban. It also has an audio input which is great for an iPod-using junkie like me. I never go anywhere without it, but I can’t plug it in to most vehicles and that bums me. But with the Fiesta, you totally can and have you’re iPod library at your finger tips just like that.

I’m absolutely pumped for the 2011 Ford Fiesta realease in Canada and will totally go out to test drive one when they arrive. I’m in love with this little car, how about you? If not, well then I think you should be! Get on the Fiesta fan-wagon and have some fun!

The Fiesta is set to be a leader in fuel economy with a best-in-class 50 (canadian) MPG with a quick response 1.6L engine.  It will also be equipped with a DOHC I-4, 6 speed transmission with electric power assist.

Fiesta will also be available in 4 & 5 door body styles.  This little car is set to be a game changer for Ford.  Its impact has already been felt around the world with the release and sale of 500,000 units in Europe & Asia.  The idea behind the Fiesta was to put into play a car that was compact, but that offered world class quality.

“Fuel economy leaders have traditionally been manual shift models,” said Pierro Aversa, team leader for transmissions. “Fiesta changes the game by offering an advanced PowerShift six-speed automatic that delivers maximum fuel economy”

With dual clutches, the engine will always maximize its responsiveness and fuel efficiency.  This responsiveness will be determined by the input received by the accelerator pedal.  As well, a nice new twist given to the Fiesta is technology taken from its cousin, the Escape.  Equipped with EPAS (Electronic Power Assist Steering), this will allow for easier turning and parallel parking manoeuvres.  This technology will be equipped in 90% of Ford’s line up by 2013.

With safety being on most people’s mind when buying a car, it is especially important in a compact.  The Fiesta will be equipped with dual stage first row airbags, and class exclusive driver’s knee airbag.  It will also be equipped with side air bags and side curtain air bags.

The frame of the Fiesta has been build with approximately 50% boron steel in all critical areas, making it best-in-class for occupant safety.  This “little “car has been tested and retested for the pounding it will take on our North American roads, and by all accounts is more than ready.

This annoying habit is so frustrating to drivers that it made the “Top 10 Driving Pet Peeves” list by a leading vehicle insurance company, which surveyed thousands of drivers nationwide. Nicknamed Morse Coders in the survey, these drivers often cruise for miles without realizing their blinker is on. Meanwhile, they are annoying everyone behind them. Are you ready for the list?

Most annoying driving habits:

1. Distracted drivers talking on cell phones (28.5 percent)
2. Slow drivers in the fast lane (21.6 percent)
3. Pushy drivers who tailgate (18.1 percent)
4. Drivers who weave through traffic to gain one or two car lengths (12.5 percent)
5. Obnoxious drivers who speed up to keep you from changing lanes (5.5 percent)
6. Hasty drivers who change lanes without signaling (4.9 percent)
7. Road Rage (2.7 percent)
8. Motorcyclists who race down the middle of a lane, between cars (2.1 percent)
9. Women applying makeup and men shaving (1.7 percent)
10. Drivers who leave their turn signal on for miles (0.92 percent)

Coming this summer on the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Ford’s three-blink lane change technology is simplifying the way drivers maneuver on the road. With a simple flick of the switch – either up or down, depending on which lane the driver is moving into – the turn indicator will blink three times and automatically shut off. The switch can be held in the lane change position longer for additional blinks beyond the three minimum.

To engage the turn signal, drivers move the switch into the standard position, one more press past the lane change mode.

For motorists who drive behind the “Morse Coders”, this is welcome news: “Driving behind a car that’s blink, blink, blinking is enough of a driver annoyance that we’re putting the technology in our full Ford line going forward,” said Murphy. “Customers say this is confusing – and it bugs them. So we’re doing something about it.”

Going on sale in the summer of 2010, the all-new Ford Fiesta is among the first vehicles in the Ford lineup to receive the new three-blink technology. The “annoyance avoidance” feature is yet another technology going into the expressive, fun-to-drive Fiesta that makes perfect sense.

With a projected best-in-class highway fuel economy of over 50mpg, Fiesta is designed to be versatile, personal and adaptable. In fact, Fiesta is expected to deliver best-in-class safety, convenience and connectivity with segment-exclusive SYNC® voice-activated communications system, an expressive color palette and available graphics.

The 2011 Ford Super Duty is also set to receive the three-blink turn signal technology when it goes on sale in 2010.
